River City Skippers and Albemarle Family YMCA Team Up to Celebrate Community This Summer
Elizabeth City, NC — The River City Skippers are proud to announce a new partnership with the Albemarle Family YMCA, joining forces to provide meaningful programming and family-focused activities throughout the summer of 2025. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to youth development, active lifestyles, and the spirit of community in Elizabeth City and the surrounding area.
As part of the partnership, Skippers players and coaches will host twice-weekly baseball clinics for YMCA summer campers. These clinics are designed to teach fundamental skills, build confidence, and foster teamwork in a fun and supportive environment. Over six weeks, young athletes will have the opportunity to learn directly from members of the Skippers organization.
In addition to on-field programming, the Skippers will donate a portion of all food and beverage sales to the Albemarle Family YMCA to help further its mission of building healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.
“This partnership is a celebration of what makes Elizabeth City special - neighbors lifting each other up and coming together around shared values,” said Adam Swain, owner of the River City Skippers. “We’re not just here to play baseball - we’re here to build something bigger.”
In addition, the Albemarle Family YMCA will provide access to The Y for Skippers players and coaches throughout the season. YMCA summer campers will also receive tickets to Skippers games, participate in exclusive player meet-and-greet events, and enjoy additional opportunities to connect with the team.
The partnership will be highlighted across social media, in-person events, and at the ballpark throughout the summer. Fans can follow along and join the celebration by visiting www.
Together, the River City Skippers and the Albemarle Family YMCA are stepping up to the plate—not just for baseball, but for a stronger, more connected community.
